Roles and responsibilities
- Responsible for operating dedicated vessels in a safe manner by coordinating all related affiliate’s departments;
- Single point of accountability for dedicated vessels vis-à-vis Contract Managers, Logistics Managers and related affiliate’s Departments (QHSE, Vessel, Maintenance, Procurement, Crewing) ensuring Condition based maintenance implementation;
- Responsible for issuing the Logistics Agreement;
- Responsible for operating dedicated vessels in a competitive manner by optimizing the expenses;
- Responsible for ensuring vessels operations are meeting clients’ expectations as per contract deployment form;
- Lead incident investigation;
- Perform regular visits on board including both checks and promotion of the HSE culture;
- Responsible for managing his/her team of Vessels Captains/Masters/Chief Engineers;
- Provide commercial and operational guidance to his/her team of Vessels Captains/Masters;
- Ensure management of preventive and corrective maintenance validating procurement requests, checking proper performance of preventive maintenance, carrying out technical inspections and conducting technical stops;
- Responsible for management of all vessel’s certificates;
- Responsible for leading Bourbon QHSE policy implementation;
- Prepare with Finances department the budget and ensure budget follow up and cost monitoring; and
- Perform any other cognate duties as may be assigned by the Management.
The Operations Manager reports hierarchically to the Operations Director.
Qualifications, Skills and Experiences
- Hold minimum a Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in maritime studies;
- Have at least 5 years of experience as Master or in similar position in a Maritime or oil and gas company. A seagoing experience would be a plus;
- You have a strong knowledge of the different Offshore Supply Vessels operations techniques and regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISO, OSHA);
- You are an internal reference in Marine Standards (OVID, OSM Standard, ISM, IMCA) and in Risk Management;
- You have know-how to promote and lead HSE culture and awareness and to analyze and manage incidents;
- You are extremely organized and rigorous and you interact, produce and report with a professional approach at all times;
- You must be at ease with budget and change management; and
- A perfect command of English is mandatory and any other language will be an advantage.
