Roles and responsibilities

MISSION

  • To support his line management in carry out engines and equipment maintenance/repair and to provide assistance for maintenance/repair of defective equipment on board all BOURBON Vessels when needed.
  • To improve the vessels technical availability and reliability

 

Description and Expected Outcome/Performance Indicators

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on surfer vessels in a cost effective and professional manner as instructed by superiors.
  • Improve the vessels technical availability and reliability thus reducing costs and down time.
  • Follow company safety procedures; carry out toolbox meetings and job safety analysis before commencing jobs.
  • Realize a detailed report for each job request to management and to whom it may concern (vessel, Technical manager, Superintendent)
  • Improved Safety record and prevent lost time accidents.
  • Give assistance to his HOD, in order to attempt his objective.
  • Maintain tools under his inventory in good condition of work.
  • Follow company safety procedures; carry out toolbox meetings and job safety analysis before commencing jobs.
  • Maintain tools under his inventory in good condition of work. Follow the tools box procedure in place.
  • Reduce loss of tools and improve tools box efficiency

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

  • B.Sc / HND Mechanical Engineering.
  • Ability to work under the direction of program managers and engineers to perform tests, and evaluate materials for particular applications.
  • Ability to develop basic technical design and developmental problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, professional relationships, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to access shipboard spaces via vertical/inclined ladders and through compartments with limited overhead and/or confined spaces

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineering the maritime industry
