Roles and responsibilities

Job Summary:

  •  Provide IT support on IT issues in accordance with BOURBON IT Standards and by using support of Helpdesk to ensure efficient and effective IT technical support.
  • Ensure IT equipment’s availability and reliability on board vessels and at the office in an efficient manner.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Respond to technical service requests for internal customers by identifying, prioritizing, and confirming resolution of reported problems with desktop, laptop, networked systems, software applications, and all other related IT infrastructure.
  • Manage the provision of equipment including laptops, desktops and mobile devices (comprising network and pertinent application access).
  • Instruct users of procedures and ways how to deal with Help desk to solve their specific issues.
  • Stay in contact with ships to solve faster, faced issues on onboard communication plants and communicate with IT Corporate to resolve issues.
  • Manage users, groups and permissions through Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Document internal procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide IT maintenance and support to sites and vessels: installing and maintaining workstations and infrastructure servers, multifunction printers and mobile devices. Monitor back-up and UPS devices.
  • Analyse and provide technical solutions to new and ongoing incidents and requests within SLA agreements, documenting solutions as required. Develop root cause analysis and corrective actions plan.
  • Monitor and support the telecom links between the corporate network and the site / vessels (satellite links, leased lines, VPN, etc.).
  • Trigger any anomaly related to the IT environment and suggest alternatives to manage and resolve issues.
  • Define yearly budget and deal with replacement of office equipment or overhaul in order to optimize costs.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, suppliers to source identified needs in fair and long-term relationships.
  • Assist in audits preparation and realisation, and follow up on observations and non-conformities.
  •   Responsible of the mailing list and the server access and manage the intranet user rights as per departmental requirements.
  • Perform any cognate duties as may be assigned by Management.

 

The IT Technician is linked hierarchically to the Technical Director and functionally to the affiliate users, vessels crews, superintendents, corporate IT and external suppliers.

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

Candidate’s profile:

 -  Hold as minimum a Diploma or professional certification in IT Field.

-  Have as minimum two (2) years of relevant experience as IT Officer /IT Support / Technician.

- Exposure in vessels communications would be an advantage.

- Have strong knowledge in Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Active Directory, and remote desktop server, MS pack office software.

- Have excellent technical skills and abilities in computer software and hardware, Microsoft windows operating systems (workstations and servers), and network protocols.

- Sound knowledge of Citrix environment and Microsoft SharePoint based applications (ERP, BI Dashboard, etc.)

-  Good organization skills and able to interact, produce and report professionally at all times.

- Ability to interact with a wide range of international customers at all levels within the organisational.

- Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize matters and meet deadlines.

- Demonstrate good interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.

- Willing to work independently and be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment.
