Roles and responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

 

You will be in charge of leading Bourbon Offshore Greenmar (BOG) HSE team, by ensuring continual improvement of operational safety management knowledge and application within the Company. The mission is to support the vessels and Client Satisfaction Chain management in achieving and maintaining sustainable high levels of compliance with BOG HSE expectations, based on and aligned with BOURBON HSE Plan requirements. The key emphasis in on continual, measurable and sustainable improvement.

 

In order to achieve this, you will:

 

  • Deliver and report on HSE expectations as directed and required by the Managing Director (hierarchical);
  • Support the Client Satisfaction Chain management related to incident investigation, communication and overall follow-up;
  • Manage and motivate BOG HSE team, manage all HSE related resource inventories, develop positive HSE culture through active leadership and example;
  • Lead HSE performance by providing knowledge and advice to shore based (including Office) and offshore personnel, encourage compliance with Operational Safety Management (OSM) / Safety Management System (SMS) standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice;
  • Lead HSE performance by conducting assessments and verification of shore-based (including Office) and offshore compliance with OSM/SMS standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice; liaise with the Quality Manager the accurate and timely reporting of statistics pertaining to HSE, analyse HSE statistics to identify trends and develop Action Plans to minimize incident rates and improve HSE performance;
  • Assist Client Satisfaction Chain management to maintain adequate bridging and gap analysis of requirements between Client and Affiliate Safety Management Systems and processes;
  • Manage individual issues and trends by leading specific campaigns (BOURBON and/or BOG) to improve HSE performance.

 

The HSE Manager is linked functionally and hierarchically to the Managing Director (Hierarchical) and will be in contact with the Client Satisfaction Chain actors, BOURBON HSE Department and BOG Quality Manager.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

Key skills and behaviors:

 

  • Incident investigation;
  • Knowledge of international HSE legislations and regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL…);
  • Risk Management;
  • Knowledge of industry standards (OVID, OVMSA, ISM/ISPS, ISO, MLC);
  • Knowledge of offshore operations, vessels, crews & conditions.
  •  Team management;
  • Analytical mind,
  • Rigorous, proactive, dynamic;
  • Well-organized, manage priorities, stress management;
  • Listening and communication skills.

 

Experience:

Confirmed experience as a HSE Manager / Superintendent, or Operations Manager, in offshore industry;

Experience as a seafarer in the offshore industry is a plus.

Previous BOURBON experience will be an advantage.

 

Diploma:

HSE background.

 

Computer knowledge:

Excellent MS Office skills.

 

Languages:

Fluent in English (mandatory)

French is a plus
